Math Curriculum Night
- Date: Tracks 2 and 4—January 31st
- Time: 6:30-7:30 pm
Goal: To provide parents with a variety of practical activities and
games that can be done with their children at home to reinforce math
skills and concepts taught in school
Format: Families will travel through a variety of math stations where
they can participate in math games, activities, and demonstrations.
Activities will be organized by grade level.
K-2 activities will be located in the cafeteria and 3-5 activities will be located in the media center.
Food For Shade
Come join us for our next Food for Shade. It will take place at Chick-fil-A Restaurant in Fuquay Varina on January 28th from 5-9 pm. The flyer with all the details will come home with your child. 5th Annual Eyes on Kids Forum

A Project of the Holly Springs Chamber of Commerce Education Committee
Are you tired of hearing “I’m bored”? Do you need something for the kids to do when they’re not in school? Are you new to the area and want to see what activities are available for your children?
Come join us and explore options during a forum and vendor fair on January 26th at the Holly Springs Branch Library and Cultural Center! Representatives from local groups and organizations will discuss after-school programs and other activities available in the community. The Vendor Fair, starting at 1:00pm, offers families the opportunity to
meet representatives from area groups and businesses and gather information about their programs.
The Forum will begin at 1:45 in the theater. Representatives from local law enforcement, schools and civic groups will discuss the state of youth in Holly Springs and offer additional information about the wonderful opportunities available for kids in Holly Springs. At 3:00 pm following the Forum, the vendor fair will return and run until 4:30 pm.
This event is co-sponsored by: The Southwest Wake YMCA, The Holly Springs Branch Library, and the Holly Springs Cultural Center.
February Informances
All Kindergarten and First Grade Classes will be performing a brief presentation on what they have learned in music class. The Informance will last about 45 minutes. Come join us for a treat.
The dates are as follows:
- February 7th at 6:30 p.m. —Tracks 1 and 2
- February 21st at 6:30 p.m. —Tracks 3 and 4
*The General PTA meeting is also set for the following dates:
- February 7th at 6:30 p.m. —Tracks 1 and 2
- February 21st at 6:30 p.m. —Tracks 3 and 4
The meeting will take place right before the Informances.
Holly Grove Sock Hop
Mark your calendars! Come join us on Friday April 18, 2008 from 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm for the Holly Grove Sock Hop. So get those dancing shoes ready and be on the look out for further information on classroom theme raffle baskets and more!
On January 29th at 7pm, we will have an informational meeting at the school to plan the details for the Sock Hop. We are looking for volunteers to help with the planning and organizing. Start thinking where your expertise can help us.
We need help with the decorations, refreshments, set-up, clean up, and activity monitors during the event. The most immediate need is finding a DJ to donate their time. We are raising money for teacher’s grants, so let’s be generous with our time and talents.
Last year’s Sock Hop was phenomenal, so let’s make this year’s even better! If you are interested in assisting with any of these areas and are unable to make the meeting, please contact us at hollygrovepta@yahoo.com.
Book Fair
Our next Book Fair is scheduled for February 11th -19th. More information will be sent home with your student next week. Be on the lookout! Family Night is February 12th at 6pm in the media center. We will have story time and milk and cookies for snack. Check out the dates and times listed below.
