To our December No Frills Winning Class. Ms. Tees’ 2nd graders brought in an amazing 1004 Harris Teeter Milk caps, Boxtops For Education and Campbell’s Soup Labels. They will have a special treat waiting for them when they return from track out. Great job Hedgehogs!
No Frills Update
- Harris Teeter Milk Caps - In early December, 1100 milk caps were sent in to Harris Teeter. That’s $55 that will come back to our school! Who ever would have thought that we could turn trash into cash?
- Campbell’s Soup - a submission of labels worth 3925 points was sent in at the end of 2007. These points will be banked to await future submissions.
- Boxtops For Education - our next deadline of February 28th is quickly approaching. I am sorry to report that our numbers are way down from those that were coming in earlier in the year. PLEASE SEND THOSE BOXTOPS IN!
- Food Lion Bonus Boxtops Offer for the month of January - Buy any 5 participating General Mills products in one shopping trip using your MVP card to receive 10 Bonus Boxtops instantly at the checkout!

Math Curriculum Night
Dates:
- Tracks 1 and 3—January 17th
- Tracks 2 and 4—January 31st
Time: 6:30-7:30 pm
Goal: To provide parents with a variety of practical activities and
games that can be done with their children at home to reinforce math
skills and concepts taught in school
Format: Families will travel through a variety of math stations where
they can participate in math games, activities, and demonstrations.
Activities will be organized by grade level.
K-2 activities will be located in the cafeteria and 3-5 activities will be located in the media center.
February Informances
All Kindergarten and First Grade Classes will be performing a brief presentation on what they have learned in music class. The Informance will last about 45 minutes. Come join us for a treat. The dates are as follows:
- February 7th at 6:30 p.m. —Tracks 1 and 2
- February 21st at 6:30 p.m. —Tracks 3 and 4
PTA Meetings

The meeting will take place right after the Informances.
Holly Grove Sock Hop
Mark your calendars! Come join us on Friday April 18, 2008 from 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm for the Holly Grove Sock Hop. So get those dancing shoes ready and be on the look out for further information on classroom theme raffle baskets and more!
In January (day and time to be announced later), we will have an informational meeting to plan the details for the Sock Hop. We are looking for people to help with the planning and organizing. Start thinking where your expertise can help us. We need help with the decorations, set-up, clean up, and activity monitors
during the event. The most immediate need is finding a DJ to donate
their time. If you are interested in assisting with any of these areas,
