PTA Membership Drive
The PTA is having a BIG membership drive. The teacher with the most parents in their class to join the PTA by October 19th will receive an $85.00 gift card to Stones!! On October 19th, we will be having a raffle for all staff personnel who have joined the PTA for a chance at a $25.00 gift card to Stones.

Fall Book Fair: October 15th -19th and October 22nd – 26th
Milk and cookies will be served for Family Night at the book fair on October 18th, and we need donations of store bought packages of chocolate chip cookies and sugar cookies for that night or send a donation in an envelope marked “PTA Cookie Donation” to school with your child. Parents can contact me at: jthomas041@nc.rr.com if they are able to donate cookies for that night.
We are still in need of volunteers for the following time slots:

- Tuesday October 16th 8:15-9:30am and 12:00-1:00pm
- Wednesday October 17th 8:15-9:30am and 12:00-1:00pm

Food For Shade
Monday, October 29, 2007 5:00 - 8:00 pm at Chick-fil-A of Fuquay-Varina
Help us raise funds for our “Food For Shade” program. It’s so easy, just bring a form with you to Chick-fil-A of Fuquay-Varina, and Holly Grove Elementary School will benefit from a percentage of the sales during this time. Chick-fil-A will also furnish a Spinning Wheel and prizes.

Come join us on November 3rd from 10 am - 2pm. We will have inflatable bounce houses, Officer McGruff, Holly Springs Fire Dept, Amazing Acres Farm, Games, Food and much more.

10 tickets for $5.00 and receive 5 FREE! So please send in your orders today. Deadline for Track 3 is Wednesday October 17th, in order to get them before they track out on Friday. Coats For The Children
The Salvation Army is doing a Coats For The Children Campaign.
This isn’t a fundraiser for our school or the PTA. This is a charitable activity to help those in great need this winter season. The Salvation Army will be providing a Red Kettle to our school. We are asking students and their families to collect and donate coins, cash, checks, etc. in the kettle during a two-week drive from November 5 – November 16, 2007. We will also be accepting new and gently used winter coats of all sizes to distribute to those in need.
The school that raises the most money during the drive will be invited to WRAL’s studio to present the funds live during the December 14th telethon.
